The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is the commercial interior design association with global reach. We are a non-profit, membership organization that represents interior design professionals, architects, environmental designers, product manufacturers, and their affiliates, around the world.

Are you a program management mastermind that is detail-oriented and capable of leading multiple project deliverables for a growing, dynamic education program?

The Design Your World (DYW) program is a key strategic initiative for IIDA. The program, launched in 2021, introduces high school students of diverse races and backgrounds in under-served communities to the history, core principles and practice of commercial interior design. Currently, the program is held in three cities: Chicago, Miami, and St. Louis. The goal of the program is to expose these students to a career path otherwise unknown or unsupported in urban classrooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will work in tandem with DYW’s Lead Program Manager - and report to IIDA’s Director of Strategic Sales.

· Program Curriculum Development 

  • Development of 4-week and 2-week curriculum plans (in coordination with Education Advisor and DYW Instructor); creation of “Design Your World In a Box” (1-2 day workshops for IIDA chapters with interest in supporting the program [ex: Hawaii Chapter]).
  • Work with the IIDA Executive and DYW teams to define a roadmap for additional cities/chapters based upon key indicators as determined by Lead Program Manager and previous city selection and experiences.

· Program Instructor and Teaching Assistant(s) Development –

  • Work within selected markets to source instructors and teaching assistant(s) for consideration.
  • Establish and maintain IIDA’s volunteer network in each market.

· Program Logistics –

  • Research, negotiate and secure space in market for use for the program.
  • Coordination of student enrichment activities such as field trips (in select markets); in conjunction with the curriculum and instructor’s plan
  • Securing and coordination of lunch catering/service throughout the live program
  • Maintenance, coordination, and tracking of all MOUs, required legal paperwork are properly signed and executed in advance of program; student stipends; lunch; Program Manager travel, meals and lodging [when applicable]).
  • On-site support and oversight of program in DYW selected cities (including ensuring all adult participants have completed background check and that best practices as it relates to supervision of student participants are adhered to).
  • Manage communication with parents/guardians on student issues, progress, participation, or program milestones. Coordination with Chapter leadership to plan and execute DYW, including;
  • Development of program culmination presentation events (in coordination with instructor), and other duties as necessary.
  • Collaborate with DYW internal Team to ensure program sponsor benefits are fulfilled including coordination of sponsor representative (when needed), program updates during course of program; sponsor participation in final student project presentation event; and coordination of program summary webinar; as well as assistance in sponsor program wrap kit completion and distribution at the completion of all DYW in-market programs annually.
  • Assist the DYW Team with research and special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years managing education planning and/or programming, non-profit program management, or similar experience.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills with ability to influence teams and individuals’ decision-making without directly managing them.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; handle and move between multiple projects at the same time
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with an ability to articulate ideas and clearly communicate a variety of information to executive/senior leadership to support stakeholders
  • Project management knowledge and some experience working in a project management software, preferred
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills related to file management, time management, and calendar management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
  • Experience working with an outside creative team for all support materials
  • Ability to think creatively, critically, and analytically.
  • Open to feedback around process management, deliverables, and willing to make edits to work as directed by the DYW Team leadership

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
