About the Pet Cancer Foundation

The Pet Cancer Foundation’s vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates suggest that 12M dogs and cats are developing cancer every year, roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.

We need to do more for our furry friends, and we're building a large team of distributed, animal-loving passionate volunteers to help them and their families. Our team requires an exceptionally organized and proactive project-content coordinator to assist our Online Communities department. That's where and how you can help us.

About the Position

We are seeking project coordination/project management professionals willing to volunteer their time to assist our content teams. In this role, you will help us organize the efforts of the teams working to build content for our online channels, which educates and inspires pet owners to give the utmost care to their cats and dogs. You will be responsible for ensuring that all members of your team are regularly engaged and keeping pace with our production schedule, submitting deliverables on time. You will keep the team on task and accountable. This role requires a highly organized and diligent individual with excellent communication skills and someone who strives to finish their tasks early while never being tardy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the coordination of content assignments for our Online Communities’ content development teams.
  • Track all content through the development cycle and process, nudging team members with finesse, while alerting their supervisors to stay on top of project timing.
  • Regularly engages with all team members to ensure there is a regular level of communication on a weekly basis through check-ins to prevent the loss of time.
  • Helps maintain any internal team documentation that is specific/unique to the content being developed by their assigned team, covering content standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Communicates with all team members, sharing feedback on process successes and challenges.
  • Liaise with cross-team stakeholders and other team coordinators to unify processes, tracking reports, and general duties for the role.
  • Assist their manager with other duties as required from time to time.

About You

You are extraordinarily organized & detail-oriented and thrive when tracking every to-do and timeline. You excel at communicating and driving the completion of clear, unambiguous deadlines with team members. Efficient & productive, you get many things done, but you also get the right things done first and are comfortable working with a distributed team across multiple time zones. And above all, you are an ambitious go-getter who is proactive, taking the initiative without being asked, while continually thinking of improving workflows. You have:

  • 3+ years of experience coordinating/assisting teams of writers and editors.
  • Project management certificate would be beneficial.
  • A pleasant but persistent demeanor that helps you and your teams make progress.
  • Experience with the Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel Gantt Charts.
  • Able to work well under pressure and can juggle multiple projects and deadlines with ease.

  • This is a volunteer position, and the time commitment is approximately 45-50 min/day or 4-6 hours per/week.
  • This role is related to a specific project that will take 6-8 months in duration and will at times require more hours based on the timelines and deliverables. Please be ready to “own” your role.
  • Days and times of service are flexible. Evenings, weekends, coffee breaks, etc.
  • This position is virtual and can be completed from anywhere in the United States or Canada.
