Job Description

We are looking for a bright, experienced individual to join our leadership team as a grant writer. In addition to researching and writing grant proposals on behalf of our non-profit organization, you will be in charge of maintaining a grants calendar to monitor the application process and keep track of various deadlines. You should feel comfortable reaching out to potential and current funders, as well as communicating with program directors about their program objectives. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of our unique model and be able to enthusiastically communicate who we are and how we serve our constituencies.

Since 1997, Greenway Arts Alliance has been connecting communities through art, culture, and social entrepreneurship. Our model funds holistic arts education programming in public schools through community markets. Our market, the Melrose Trading Post, is a cultural destination for thousands of shoppers every Sunday that funds Greenway Institute for the Arts, a flourishing arts program at Fairfax High School, and Greenway Court Theatre, a home for works from emerging and established talent. GRANT WRITER JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify new funding opportunities
  • Research, prepare, and submit proposals for funding
  • Follow all requirements and deadlines for grant applications
  • Review budget proposals with leadership team
  • Communicate with potential funders and current funders
  • Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents
  • Maintain a grants calendar to monitor progress
  • Spend time observing and learning about Greenway programs
  • Meet regularly with Co-Founders and department leaders

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Proven work experience as a Grant Writer or similar role
  • Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources
  • Exceptional organizational and writing skills
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Exceptional research skills
  • Computer proficiency

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 per hour
