Job Description


The Home Builders Association of Northern Colorado (NoCo HBA) is an organization of residential construction and related professionals dedicated to high ethical standards, education, and advocating for the health of our industry and success of our members. NoCo HBA was chartered in 1967 and represents every segment of the residential building industry in 54 municipalities and eight counties, including Greeley, Loveland, Windsor, Fort Collins, and surrounding areas.

We are seeking an Executive Officer who is passionate about making a difference in our communities. Our team and its members provide meaningful employment and improved housing opportunities in our region.

Primary Responsibilities and Measurables: The Executive Officer has the principal responsibility to fulfill the strategic plan established by the Board of Directors. Annual review of the strategic plan and its interim goals, objectives, and budgets is the key performance indicator for the Executive Officer’s success.

Executive Officer Expectations:

· Achieve budgeted attendance and income goals from annualevents.

· Manage financial and operational processes to meet or exceed the standards of not-for-profit best practices. Create, monitor, and maintain budgets with the assistance of a professional bookkeeper.

· Support internal paid staff in addition to a volunteer team and implement strategies to grow and maintain team engagement and satisfaction while reducing risk.

· Establish and promote relevant member educational programs.

· Support Workforce development initiatives in training and preparing for the future.

· Collaborate with membership committee to design and implement growth and retention strategies.

· Recruit new members to the Association by understanding and sharing the benefits of membership.

· Serve as the Association liaison to NAHB and CAHB raising awareness of industry issues and advocacy.

· Provide direction and oversight of organization’s marketing activities.

· Build relationships between NoCo HBA members and the community.

· Understand and communicate the legislative and government affairs positions established by the BOD.

· Build successful relationships with municipal building departments.

· Generate public awareness of the challenges facing the home building industry in Northern Colorado.

· Support the Board of Directors in upholding Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experiential Requirements:

· Work and collaborate in or with the homebuilding industry.

· Leading and organizing meetings of volunteers and Board Members.

· Clear and confident public speaking.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

· Understand financial statements and budgets.

· Leadership of volunteers and staff.

General Performance Standards

1. Complete responsibilities accurately and according to company policies, standards, and values.

2. Model the code of conduct, values, and principles of the NoCo HBA.

3. Maintain confidentiality with all company and member materials and information.

4. Return telephone calls and e-mails, both internal and external returned within one business day.

5. Provide assistance to all with a spirit of helpfulness and positivity.

6. Collaborate and innovative to continuously improve the organization.

Position: Salaried, Exempt, Full-Time

Paid time off: 3 weeks plus select national holidays

Compensation: $80,000 base plus bonus potential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
