WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work remotely (100% from home) to support managers & employees primarily located in the Northeast Biomedical division.
Serve as the HR consultant to client groups and employees. Provide HR support to clients and employees on day-to-day issues and inquiries. Partner with colleagues to deliver HR programs including employee/labor relations, coaching, HR training and performance management to managers and employees to ensure they are equipped to meet the organization’s business goals and mission. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
The American Red Cross is seeking an HR expert who can support our Blood Services employees and managers.
This Human Resources Business Partner will be supporting approximately 700 to 800 employees, representing multiple labor unions. Therefore, demonstrated HR experience supporting multiple international unions in various locations is an integral part of being successful in this role. Hands on labor relations experience is an absolute MUST for this position. This HR Business Partner's area of responsibility will be all unionized employees, so if you have these skills, we want to talk with you!
The successful candidate will work EST hours.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:
- Provide consulting support for HR Service initiatives to our Blood Services business unit. Key areas will include employee relations & labor relations, investigations, grievance procedures, coaching, and performance management.
- Consult with client groups on matters of moderate complexity for the application/interpretation of laws and regulations, HR policies, performance issues, transfer, terminations and promotions.
- Provide HR support to clients on day-to-day issues and inquiries, and answer routine/non-routine requests for information and established policy interpretation.
- Coach managers on employee problem resolution and performance management.
- Identify employee issues and trends and develop recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with established internal HR policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits, as needed/required. May support special projects.
Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas.
The salary range for this position is: $78,000-$85,000.
Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5-years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Management Experience: N/A
- Experience with unions, labor relations, employee relations; including investigations preferred.
- Experience working in HR case management systems like Workday & Service Now preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- Travel: May travel infrequently and participate in meetings, conferences, and special projects throughout the Red Cross system.
- Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined.
