Job Description
Vetus Foundation, in Lecanto FL , is a Nursing Home management company. we are looking for a Risk Manager to work with the current HR director, and to assist with Insurance, Risk identification, policy, and more.
Vetus Foundation has been managing Nursing homes since 2004, with around 800 employees and multiple regions across the US.

This is an in-person position, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

General Job Description
· Assist in the Oversee the organizations comprehensive insurance and risk management program
· Assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization
· Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies
· Over see the Corporate Compliance program
· Renewal/change of NHA licenses with state
· Health Insurance for Employees
· Worker’s Compensation programs
· Auto insurance and renewals
· Insurance renewals and applications
Job Responsibilities
· Leads the identification, communications, measurement, and management of company-wide risk.
· Manages insurance procurement, develops, and implements risk management and compliance policies/procedures and Manges claims and litigation.
· Manages relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
· Evaluates and provides recommendations regarding selection of policies, including but not limited to: Property, Casualty, General Liability, Worker’s Compensation, Directors and Officers, and Cyber-risk polices.
· Coordinates and submits, as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal data.
· Partners with all departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
· Investigates, resolves, and responds to all property and liability claims under the direction of Director of Operation & General Counsel.
· Provides timely notification of claims to insurance carriers
· Works with the company’s insurance brokers to respond to requests of certificates of insurance and claims history document.
· Manges the workers’ compensation and incident reporting program and processes, assesses, and reports claims to carriers as appropriate.

Duties
Specific duties are assigned at the discretion of the Director of Operations and HR/Legal Director and may be adjusted to meet the needs of the company and the expertise of personnel available.
Qualifications
● Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
● Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, management, or related field
● SPHR and/or SHRM certification preferred
● Must have a pleasant personality and good telephone etiquette as well as knowledge of computers and office software.
● Must be able work under stressful conditions
● Must have skills in working cooperatively with other professionals and can organize and carry out responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
● Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a wide variety of circumstances, both verbally and in writing.
● Commitment to the philosophy and objectives of the facility.
● Excellent organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
● Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail

Physical Demands
● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
● This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, grasping and carrying.
● The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 10 pounds and occasionally objects up to 35 pounds.
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
In-Service Education
● Participate in all required in-service meetings.
● Participate in selected continuing education programs if available.
Responsibilities
● Understand and abide by established policies of the office and interpret them to concerned parties.
● Maintain confidentiality of information; maintain a professional demeanor.
● Account for use of time, report sickness, and coordinate leave time with the Director of Operations.
● Prepare all required reports and submit them to the Director of Operations or appropriate supervisor.
● Other specific duties as assigned by the supervisors.
