Job Description/Responsibilities

The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is a seasoned senior executive responsible for developing and implementing the human resources strategy needed to support the organization's mission, goals and people. This leadership position oversees human resource operations and employee benefits and compensation; recruits and retains a diverse and highly effective organizational staff; ensures compliance with state and federal labor laws; and analyzes human resource effectiveness. The VP of HR will oversee organization-wide human resources, including Good Fund and its affiliate organizations such as Georgia BRIGHT.

In this role, the VP of HR will:

  • Develop strategies and processes for attracting and developing a talented workforce committed to our growth and our values.
  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring employee compliance with state and federal labor laws.
  • Build strong relationships with organizational stakeholders through regular check-ins and effective change management.
  • Coach, evaluate, support and reward HR team members
  • Develop and manage employee benefits and compensation that are fair and equitable.
  • Ensure all policy and procedures comply with state and federal regulations and best practices.
  • Prepare reports for C-suite and Exec team using business metrics and KPIs
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to help direct the strategic needs of the organization.
  • Ability to energize, inspire & motivate a team to exceed objectives.
  • Define and establish HR metrics to evaluate and manage the efficacy of our HR operations, programs, and organization-wide employee policy and procedures.
  • Cultivate a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on development, performance management, workforce planning, and talent retention
  • Lead change management initiatives to drive organizational effectiveness
  • Embody the mission of Capital Good Fund and support leadership in efforts to grow and scale the organization, with an early focus on the GeorgiaBRIGHT program

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Minimum 10 years of HR experience with progressively increased responsibilities and number of direct reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Strategic thinker
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Meets deadlines

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Preferred Master's degree
  • Certification (e.g. PHR/SPHR)
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
  • HRBP (Human Resources Business Partner) or HR generalist as a previous position

Training and CompensationThe VP of HR will receive extensive training on all of Capital Good Fund’s products, services, policies, procedures, and technology.

In addition, the VP of HR will receive a competitive benefits package that 401(k) plan with a dollar-for-dollar employer match up to 4% of employee gross earnings, medical insurance with a $500/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by employer for routine dental care, 5 paid personal days per benefit year, 15 vacation days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.
