POSITION DESCRIPTION

 


TITLE:
 Vice President of Impact & Innovation

DEPARTMENT: Executive

REPORTS TO: President & CEO

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Impact & Innovation (VP) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for all program areas. The role will be a part of the executive management team that drives the overall strategy for the organization and represents BGCGW on a local, regional, and national level. The VP with his/her team will develop and implement programs based on a deep knowledge of departmental projects in conjunction with the operations team. The focus will be on several areas of importance: strategic program leadership, staff management, internal and external relationships, and knowledge/process management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify opportunities for BGCGW to increase the number of youth/teens we serve through partnership and collaboration with existing/new partners – corporate, foundation, and government entities.
  • Oversee current programs to include; STEM, Center of Transformation, Clubhouse @ Your House, Trauma-informed Care, Teens, Arts, etc. and maximize potential to support BGCGW youth while creating and promoting an inspirational work culture that excels in program delivery and progressive management.
  • Partner with Resource Development to garner new partners with interest in BGCGW programs to support revenue generation.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure delivery of strong and consistent programs across the Tri-Metropolitan Club locations.
  • Develop high awareness in the BGCGW community of Club programs and assess and analyze positioning of partnerships and program expansions.
  • Collaborate with the grants team to ensure program delivery expectations are met/exceeded in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all BGCA membership evaluation requirements and all relevant mandates are in compliance.
  • Interact and support the BGCGW Metro Board of Directors, Regional Boards, and other critical stakeholders, frequently.
  • Generate metrics to support ROI for all programs and partnerships.
  • Be a strategic thought partner as a member of the executive team.
  • Facilitate and support strategic partnership activities with business/industry, community organizations, and other entities by representing BGCGW.
  • Be the expert on information related to our populations targeted by organizational programming.
  • Interact regularly with executive/senior management and all other staff as necessary to accomplish organizational/department goals.
  • Schedule regular performance/goals discussions with direct reports and ensure performance appraisals are completed in a thorough and timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned by President & CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, advance degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development organization, planning and supervising staff and activities based on the development needs of young people, with a minimum of four of those years at a management level.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade, and motivate diverse populations including Club members, community groups, staff, volunteers, and peers.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with budget preparation, financial controls, and proactive financial management.
  • The ability to identify and leverage the talents of others in order to meet organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated competence in data analysis, data collection, and data presentation.
  • Effective problem solving, time management, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellence in usage/knowledge of technology, reporting, data tracking, and analysis.

 


ADA SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Requires the ability to speak, hear, use a personal computer for standard business communications, and the ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • The ability to travel independently between Club locations and attend meetings outside of regular operating hours.
