What You’ll Do

The HR Generalist serves as a key member of the STARability team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The HR Generalist supports our employees throughout their employment life cycle. Responsibilities include the implementation of HR policies, procedures and programs and overseeing recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, rewards and employee relations. The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in maintaining STARability’s personnel and managing employment details, contributing to organizational productivity, engagement and value. This is an opportunity for an experienced professional, with a passion for nonprofit work, to build STARability’s HR department and team. · Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.

· Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations.

· Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities

· Create a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; keeps the strategy up to date

· Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution

· Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations

· Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team

· Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently

· Maintain company organization charts and employee directory

· Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with organizational initiatives

· Maintain HR systems and processes

· Conduct performance and salary reviews

· Provide support and guidance to department managers and staff

· Analyze trends in compensation and benefits

· Design and implement employee retention strategies

· Participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

· Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to be Successful

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.

· Five to seven years of professional HR experience, with at least three years at the HR Generalist level or equivalent, required.

· In-depth knowledge of HR principles and best practices, required.

· Experience developing and teaching content to managers and supervisors to increase their leadership capabilities, required.

· Strong understanding of change management principles and experience leading organizational change initiatives, desired.

· Proficiency in running salaried payroll and processing expense reimbursements, required.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization, required.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, required.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), desired.

· Experience in nonprofit organizations, desired.

· Ability to be flexible, patient, and handle a variety of situations, required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The HR Generalist is a full-time, salaried position with a starting salary of $70,000. We offer a generous benefits package, including competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays, annual leave, and sick time; 401(k) with an employer match; an EAP; and professional development opportunities.

Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with some evening and weekend hours required.

Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and be willing to use a personal vehicle occasionally for work-related events and meetings (reimbursement provided). Some light lifting (up to 20 pounds) may be required.
