JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, in Hershey, PA is seeking aPostdoctoral Scholar. The individual should be motivated with expertise in animal models of pain/disease and molecular biology. Experience in cannabinoid pharmacology would be ideal but not required. The trainee will supercritical CO2 extraction (and other extraction techniques) to prepare extracts from hemp and evaluate these extracts and pure constituents in a variety of pain models . Skills and knowledge in cell culture, metabolism and pharmacokentics studies, and animal models of pain is preferred. Applicant should have the ability to work in a collaborative work environment and will take an active role in the newly established Center for Cannabis and Natural Product Pharmaceutics.
A PhD in pharmacology, molecular biology, or related field is required at time of start.
This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
