SUMMARY:The Senior Principal Financial Analyst is responsible for leading the development and communication of analytics and actionable insights to senior leaders of the organization of critical or key initiatives. This role will be responsible for leading the development of forecasting activities, leveraging data analytics to drive results and/or drive process optimization. This role will be responsible for managing the relationship with the segments and corporate FP&A function, assisting them as needed on enabling critical initiatives. This position will typically work under limited supervision and direction and this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meets with senior leaders to understand business problems. Translates problems into actionable insights that can be leveraged to drive improvements in the business.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert internally for FP&A data.
  • Creates, manages, and communicates a pipeline of requests based on agreed-upon criteria.
  • Leverages internal and external resources effectively to accomplish business needs.
  • Ensures information is accurately analyzed - both revenue and cost drivers and provides relevant analysis in complex multi-business model environments.
  • Ensures data is prepared properly for analytic consumption and can translate large data sets into insights and effectively communicate insights to upper management.
  • Effectively uses or directs others to use data and identifies trends and patterns in complex data sets that are needed for critical decision-making.
  • Delivers valuable performance analysis and financial models ensuring performance risks, issues, opportunities, and actionable insights are highlighted to upper management.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and identify areas of improvement for the function.
  • Provide meaningful budgets and forecasts integrated with core business processes and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan.
  • Creates effective problem statements and identifies opportunities.
  • Engages stakeholders, creates powerful messages, and simplifies complex issues into manageable tasks.
  • Creates effective visualizations using visualization best practices.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Twelve (12)+ years of related experience.
  • Well-developed project and change management skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.
  • Visualization experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Advanced Excel is required.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • Drives the strategy of self-service enablement across the organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data principles using data analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or aptitude of statistical, data mining, and/or visualization tools.
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as well as enact changes.

Cubic Pay Range:

$115,887.2 - $173,444.7* + benefits.

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
